Pirates of the Caribbean
So, one has a plan. One attempts to stick to the plan. Then three -- count 'em -- THREE monorails go out of service immediately after they pull up to one at the TTC, when the plan was to photograph the new Christmas decorations and daylight is rapidly receding. Well, there's nothing for it but to call an audible and change the plan!
While not a Day One ride at Walt Disney World, it's hard to imagine the park without Pirates of the Caribbean. I must have ridden Pirates at least a couple of hundred times and I never get tired of it. The ride's sense of humor, the impressive scenes, and the memorable soundtrack make for a must-see
attraction even now, almost fifty years since it opened. It's undergone some changes over the years, to the expected mixed reviews, but I still love every part of this ride. I even kind of miss the ghostly cascade of mist and the projections of Davy Jones and Blackbeard from the films.
Even among the "dark rides," Pirates is pretty dark, so it makes for a challenging photo shoot. I think I managed to get some pretty decent shots of the iconic scenes of the ride, though, so I hope you enjoy this pictoral ride through Tortuga and/or Port Royal on Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean!
